Target Shooting Ireland in conjunction with East Coast Shooting Club are running an introductory session for 50m Supported Shooting. The session will take place in East Coast Shooting Club on Saturday 25th of August, starting from 10am.
50m Supported Shooting is modelled on the SH1 Paralympic event. The shooter uses a sling and jacket which support the rifle, but is seated at a table as opposed to in the prone position on the ground, similar to benchrest shooting.

All experience levels are welcome. There is no charge for the session and all equipment will be provided on the day (personally owned equipment can be used too).

Competitors must be affiliated to TSI through their club or individual affiliation. Contact
Event 1 - National 50m Prone Championships:
This will be a 50m Prone 60 shot qualifying event leading into a final, using the 2017 ISSF final timings and format.
Event 2 – National 50m 3 Position Championships:
This will be a 50m 3 Position 3x40 shot qualifying event leading into a final, using the 2017 ISSF final timings and format.
Event 3 – 50m Prone Team of Three:
This will be a team competition between clubs. The winning club will be decided by the one with the best three combined Prone 60 shot scores. This will be shot concurrently with Event 1; there is no separate entry required for this event.
Finals:
The Finals for the above will be restricted to those who are eligible to shoot for Ireland (eligible to hold an Irish passport). Selection of the top eight competitors for the purposes of the finals will be done on this basis.
Class Prizes:
All Competitors in Classes B, C and D will be able to compete for prizes in these Classes. There will be three prizes per class. For this event, the class prizes will be based on the 60 shot score recorded in Event 1. There are no class prizes for the 3 Position event. Re-entry is not permitted.
Fees:
Adult entry – €20.00
Student and/or Junior entry – €15.00
Closing date for entries: 12 hours before detail start time
Competitors must be eligible to hold an Irish passport to win National Medals.
Competitors must be aged 14 or over. Those aged under 14 are welcome as spectators.

The last open shoot of the 2017 season, the RRPC Leinster Open, will take place in Rathdrum Rifle and Pistol Club on Sunday 26th of November. A Thursday detail will also be held on the 23rd November.
This is an Open Target Rifle competition. No membership requirement.
