About us

E-mail Print

The National Target Shooting Association (NTSA) is the National Governing Body (NGB) for ISSF rifle and pistol target shooting events,in Ireland. These include the events seen in the Olympic Games as well as events run at World and European Championship level. We are also the NGB for several non-ISSF disciplines which use ISSF equipment, such as 25 yard prone rifle.

We are recognised by the ISSF (the International Shooting Sports Federation), the ESC (European Shooting Confederation) and the Olympic Council of Ireland, and are members of the FIS (Federation of Irish Sports).

The NTSA is not currently recognised as a National Governing Body of Sport by the ISC (Irish Sports Council) and therefore not supported by Government funding. We rely entirely on member's conttributions for the running of the Association and recently received a grant from the OCI (Olympic Council of Ireland) to help with the costs associated with sending athletes abroad for international competitions.

Should you wish to donate funds to the Association, there is a PayPal donate button on the right hand side of the website. Sponsors for our National Championships and other events should contact the President or Treasurer using the contacts item in the menu.
